Musicport Festival

Musicport is one of the UK's leading world music festivals, held annually in the coastal town of Whitby, North Yorkshire. Celebrating music, culture and creativity from across the globe, the festival brings together internationally renowned artists, emerging talent, workshops, talks and community activities across multiple stages and venues.

My involvement with Musicport began through Red & Yellow Design, where I developed the festival's visual identity, marketing materials and digital content across multiple years. During Musicport 2024, I captured footage across the festival and created a promotional film showcasing the atmosphere, performances and community that make the event so special. In 2025, I returned to capture additional long and short-form video content, documenting the people, energy and experiences that define the festival.

Musicport represents a blend of creative disciplines that I particularly enjoy working within, combining:

  • visual storytelling,
  • live events,
  • culture,
  • and human moments connecting audiences with an experience.

Interview project - Inside the world of musicport

To celebrate Musicport's 25th anniversary, I produced a series of documentary-style interviews exploring the people behind the festival and the passion that has shaped it over the last quarter of a century.

The series features conversations with founders, organisers, volunteers and key members of the Musicport team, offering a behind-the-scenes look at what makes the festival unique. Through personal stories and reflections, the interviews explore how individuals first became involved, what Musicport means to them, and the challenges and rewards of delivering a world-class festival year after year.
